New scans aim to replace painful liver biopsies for millions
NCT ID NCT07172997
Summary
This study aims to create better, needle-free ways to screen for and monitor a common fatty liver disease (MASLD) in people undergoing weight-loss surgery. Researchers will also look for signs in the blood that can predict if a person's type 2 diabetes will go away after surgery. They will compare different scans and blood tests against the current standard, a liver biopsy, in 163 patients before and after their operation.
