Wrist band aims to replace needle for blood pressure monitoring

NCT ID NCT04506775

Summary

This study tested a new wrist-worn device that measures blood pressure continuously without needing a needle in the artery. Researchers compared its readings to the standard method (an arterial catheter) in 30 patients having surgery or staying in the intensive care unit. The goal was to see if the comfortable, non-invasive device is as accurate as the invasive standard.
