New Mind-Body technique shows promise for taming tummy troubles

NCT ID NCT06150638

Summary

This study tested a simple, non-instrumental biofeedback technique to help people reduce visible abdominal bloating that occurs after eating. 41 participants with conditions like irritable bowel syndrome were taught specific breathing and posture exercises to perform before and after meals. The goal was to see if this mind-body approach could ease the uncomfortable sensation and visible swelling of bloating better than a placebo.
