AI-Powered breast MRI could eliminate need for contrast dye
NCT ID NCT07598084
First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026
Summary
This observational study aims to develop an AI system that uses diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) to create synthetic contrast-enhanced breast MRI images, potentially diagnosing breast cancer without injecting contrast agents. Researchers will enroll 12,000 adults who need a breast MRI for suspicious findings or high-risk screening. The goal is to see if the synthetic images can accurately distinguish benign from malignant lesions and allow lower-risk people to skip contrast dye.
