Summary

This phase 3 trial compared a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (nivolumab and ipilimumab) against the standard drug sunitinib in over 1,000 people with untreated advanced or metastatic kidney cancer. The study measured how well the tumors shrank, how long patients lived without the cancer getting worse, and overall survival. The goal was to see if the immunotherapy combo could outperform the current standard treatment.
