Immune system boosters tested against rare head & neck cancer

NCT ID NCT03172624

Summary

This study tested whether two immunotherapy drugs, nivolumab and ipilimumab, could help control advanced salivary gland cancer that had returned or spread. The trial involved 64 adults whose cancer could not be cured with surgery or radiation. Researchers measured how well the combination shrank tumors and controlled the disease in patients who had often tried other treatments first.
