NCT ID NCT05798481

First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested a new compound given under the tongue to see if it can lower blood pressure by boosting nitric oxide levels. Fourteen healthy adults took part. The goal was to measure changes in blood pressure and related chemicals in the blood. This approach might offer a new way to manage high blood pressure without the tolerance that can develop with current nitrate drugs.
