First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This early-phase study tested a new way to deliver nitric oxide—a molecule that relaxes blood vessels—by placing a mixture under the tongue. Fourteen healthy adults took part to see if this method safely lowers blood pressure. The goal is to find an alternative to current nitrate drugs that avoids building up tolerance over time.
