New graft aims to save nipples in mastectomy surgery

NCT ID NCT06073808

Summary

This study is testing whether a special tissue graft, made from donated placental membranes, can help nipples heal better and survive after a specific type of mastectomy that spares the nipple. Researchers will compare outcomes in 30 people having this surgery, with half receiving the graft and half not. The main goal is to see if the graft reduces the risk of the nipple turning dark, scabbing, or dying after the operation.
