Summary

This early study will test whether nimodipine, a drug usually used for blood pressure, can reduce alcohol drinking and cravings in heavy drinkers. Five adults with Alcohol Use Disorder will stay overnight at a hospital, take nimodipine, and then have the option to drink alcohol or receive money instead. Researchers will track how many drinks they choose and monitor any side effects.
