NCT ID NCT04903119
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether adding nilotinib to standard BRAF/MEK inhibitor therapy can help people with advanced melanoma whose cancer has stopped responding to treatment. About 30 participants will receive the drug combination to see if it is safe and tolerable. The goal is to find the best dose for future studies.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
nilotinib combined with dabrafenib and trametinib or encorafenib and binimetinib
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced melanoma whose current therapy has stopped working.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small phase 1 trial focused on safety and dosing, not on effectiveness. The combination may cause significant side effects or fail to improve outcomes.
