Scientists lock smokers in clinic to test new nicotine pouches
NCT ID NCT06777784
Summary
This study aimed to understand how addictive six modern oral nicotine products (like pouches or lozenges) are compared to regular cigarettes and nicotine gum. Forty smokers lived in a clinic for 10 days to try each product while researchers measured their cravings and how much nicotine entered their blood. The goal was to gather data on the abuse potential, or risk of addiction, for these newer products.
