Can a vitamin pill slow Alzheimer's? early trial tests brain fuel theory

NCT ID NCT04430517

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a dietary supplement called nicotinamide riboside (a form of vitamin B3) can improve brain cell energy and reduce harmful stress in people with mild memory problems or early Alzheimer's disease. Researchers will give the supplement to 50 participants and use special brain scans to see if it boosts the brain's energy levels and affects thinking skills. The goal is to see if this approach could help slow the progression of these conditions.
