NCT ID NCT07649161
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether taking high doses of nicotinamide riboside (a form of vitamin B3) for two weeks can improve brain energy metabolism in 50 healthy adults. Researchers will use special MRI scans and blood tests to measure changes in key brain chemicals. There is no direct health benefit for participants, but the results may help design future studies for brain disorders.

nicotinamide riboside (Niagen), a form of vitamin B3
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a foundation for future studies testing NR as a treatment for brain disorders linked to energy problems.
