Common vitamin shows promise in preventing skin cancer for High-Risk leukemia patients
NCT ID NCT04844528
Summary
This study is testing whether a common vitamin called nicotinamide (a form of vitamin B3) can prevent new non-melanoma skin cancers in people who have chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and a history of these skin cancers. About 86 participants will take either the vitamin or a placebo pill twice daily for one year, then all will take the vitamin for a second year. Doctors will check their skin regularly to count any new skin cancers that develop.
