First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether nicotinamide (vitamin B3) is safe and helpful for people with dominant optic atrophy (DOA), a genetic condition that slowly damages the optic nerve and causes vision loss. Researchers will give the vitamin to 25 adults with DOA and monitor for side effects and changes in eye health. The goal is to see if this simple supplement can slow or improve vision problems.
