Vitamin B3 cream trial offers hope to stop skin cancer in High-Risk transplant patients
NCT ID NCT07286318
Summary
This study is testing whether applying a cream containing 5% niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3) daily can help prevent skin cancer in people who have received an organ transplant. Organ transplant recipients take medications that weaken their immune system, which makes them much more likely to develop skin cancers. The trial will compare the cream plus sunscreen to sunscreen alone in 20 participants over 12 months to see if it reduces precancerous spots and new skin cancers.
