New drug trial aims to shrink debilitating nerve tumors

Summary
This study is testing an oral drug called mirdametinib for people with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) who have painful, inoperable nerve tumors called plexiform neurofibromas. The main goal is to see if the drug can shrink these tumors by at least 20% and reduce pain and other symptoms. The trial includes 114 children and adults and is currently in its later testing phase.
