Blood test could spot hidden tumors in kids with NF1
NCT ID NCT05238909
First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks for signals in the blood that could show whether a person with Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) has plexiform neurofibroma tumors. Currently, finding these tumors requires whole-body MRI scans. Researchers will collect blood samples and compare them with MRI results from 200 participants to see if certain fats in the blood can reliably indicate tumor presence and size. The goal is to make tumor detection simpler and less invasive.
