Modified cold sore virus injected to fight disfiguring skin tumors

NCT ID NCT07102394

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a modified virus (IMLYGIC), already approved for some skin cancers, can be safely injected into the numerous, often painful or itchy, skin tumors caused by neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Researchers will inject the virus directly into the tumors of up to 10 adults with NF1 to see if the treatment is feasible and tolerable, and to check for any signs it can shrink the growths.
