Scientists hunt for genetic clues behind NF1 severity
NCT ID NCT00111384
Summary
This study aimed to find genes that might explain why some people with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) have more serious medical problems than others. Researchers enrolled 313 people with NF1 and their family members to collect health information, images, and blood samples. The goal was to link differences in gene activity to the number of tumors and other specific features of the condition.
