New UTI pill tested against common antibiotic in early trial
NCT ID NCT05138822
Summary
This early-stage study tested a new oral drug, GSK3882347, for treating uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in adult women. It compared the new drug's safety and ability to clear the infection to a standard antibiotic, nitrofurantoin. The main goal was to see if the new drug could reduce the bacteria causing the UTI after a 5-day course of treatment.
