Simple urine test could be Game-Changer for HIV prevention efforts

NCT ID NCT03935464

Summary

This study tested a new, quick urine test designed to help people taking daily medication to prevent HIV (PrEP). Researchers wanted to see if giving people immediate feedback on whether the drug was in their system would help them take it more consistently. The study involved 100 women in Kenya who were already on PrEP, comparing those who got the new test and feedback to those who received standard counseling.
