NCT ID NCT07109856

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new, non-invasive tool called the POPScore to predict infections in newborns with breathing problems. The score combines light measurements of muscle oxygen with routine vital signs like heart rate. Researchers will check if the score, taken within 6 hours of birth, can accurately predict high inflammation levels (CRP) within 48 hours. The goal is to find the best cut-off value to help doctors detect infections earlier and more gently.
