New Light-Based test could spot baby infections hours earlier
NCT ID NCT07109856
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-invasive scoring system to predict infection in newborns who are having trouble breathing. The score uses a simple light sensor on the skin along with standard vital signs. Researchers will see if this score, taken in the first 6 hours of life, can accurately predict which babies will show signs of a serious infection within the next two days.
