New Mind-Body therapy aims to break the Pain-Opioid cycle
NCT ID NCT05571917
Summary
This study is testing a therapy program designed to help people who have both long-term chronic pain and opioid use disorder. The program combines two talk therapies—one focused on accepting pain and the other on mindfulness to prevent relapse—while participants continue their standard medication (buprenorphine). Researchers want to see if this combined approach is better than usual care at reducing how much pain interferes with daily life and lowering the risk of opioid misuse.
