Summary
This study aims to develop new criteria using simple physical performance tests (like hand grip and stepping speed) to help decide when surgery is needed for degenerative cervical myelopathy, a condition that compresses the spinal cord in older adults. Researchers will enroll 100 Chinese adults aged 45 and older who are already surgical candidates. The goal is to improve surgical timing beyond current MRI and symptom-based methods.
