Doctors test Direct-to-Spine drug for advanced cancer

Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of a drug called deferoxamine when it is injected directly into the spinal fluid. The goal is to treat cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord (leptomeningeal metastases) from solid tumors like lung or breast cancer. Researchers will first find the safest dose and then see if it helps control the disease in a small group of adult patients.
