Evolution-Inspired drug sequence could tame metastatic breast cancer

NCT ID NCT06409390

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests a new way of giving already-approved drugs to people with hormone-positive metastatic breast cancer. The idea is to use a 'first strike, second strike' approach, inspired by how extinctions happen in nature, to make the treatment more effective. The study will enroll 15 women and see if this sequence helps them reach a state of no detectable cancer. The goal is better disease control, not a cure.
