Could a 'No-Cut' surgery reduce pain for rectal cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT07358247

Summary

This study compares two ways to perform surgery for low rectal cancer. One method removes the cancerous tissue through the anus (a natural opening), while the other uses a small cut in the abdomen. Researchers want to see if the 'no-cut' method leads to fewer wound infections and less pain after surgery. They will look back at the medical records of about 190 patients who had surgery between 2017 and 2023.
