Pill vs injection: new hope for prostate cancer treatment?

NCT ID NCT02972060

Summary

This study is testing whether a new oral pill called darolutamide can control prostate cancer as well as standard hormone injections. It will compare the two treatments in about 250 men who have not yet received hormone therapy. The main goal is to see if the pill can lower PSA levels (a cancer marker) by at least 80% after 24 weeks, similar to the standard treatment, while also tracking side effects and quality of life.
