New scan aims to solve heart disease mystery
NCT ID NCT05184088
Summary
This study is testing a new type of PET scan to see if it can accurately diagnose a serious heart condition called cardiac AL amyloidosis. The test uses a special imaging dye to look for harmful protein buildup in the heart. Researchers will compare the scan results to current diagnostic methods in about 200 adults who are suspected of having the disease.
