New scan could help doctors see if esophageal cancer treatment is working

NCT ID NCT06414902

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new type of PET scan (called 18F-FAraG PET) to see if it can better detect tumors in people with esophageal cancer. The main goal is to learn if this scan can predict whether a patient's cancer will completely disappear after receiving standard chemoradiation treatment. Researchers will enroll 60 adults with untreated, locally advanced esophageal cancer to see if the scan results match their actual treatment outcomes.
