New PET scan tracer could outshine current standard for inflammation diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07535554
First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study compares a new imaging tracer, [18F]-AlF-FAPI-74, with the standard [18F]-FDG in PET/CT scans for three inflammatory conditions: fever of unknown origin, IgG4-related disease, and axial spondyloarthritis. Researchers aim to see if the new tracer is as good or better at finding the cause of inflammation. About 140 adults will participate, and the results could lead to more accurate diagnoses without invasive procedures.
