New scan could spare breast cancer patients unnecessary surgery
NCT ID NCT06559371
Summary
This study is testing a new type of PET/CT scan to see if it can accurately check whether breast cancer has been cleared from underarm lymph nodes after a patient completes pre-surgery drug treatment. The goal is to find a better, non-invasive way to assess treatment success before surgery. 150 women with breast cancer that had spread to their lymph nodes will receive this special scan between finishing their drug therapy and having surgery.
