Early trial tests 'Ultra-Hot' pepper compound to numb severe cancer pain

NCT ID NCT02522611

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether an experimental injection called resiniferatoxin (RTX) is safe and can reduce severe, untreatable pain caused by cancer that has spread to the bones. Up to 30 adults who have not found relief from standard pain medications will receive a single injection near their spine. Researchers will monitor participants for about 7 months to check safety, pain levels, and quality of life.
