Could this new pill help end opioid dependence after surgery?

NCT ID NCT07355166

Summary

This study tests whether a new FDA-approved non-opioid pain medication called Suzetrigine can reduce patients' need for opioid painkillers after common outpatient knee surgeries. Researchers will compare pain control and side effects between patients receiving the new drug versus those receiving standard opioid-based pain regimens. The goal is to find safer pain management options that minimize opioid risks while keeping patients comfortable during recovery.
