Spit test could spot throat cancer early

NCT ID NCT05524025

Summary

This study tested a new oral rinse that looks for HPV DNA in saliva. Researchers wanted to see if the test could tell the difference between a common HPV infection and actual throat cancer. They compared results from 360 people—some with HPV-positive throat cancer and some without—to see if the test could be useful for future cancer diagnosis.
