New 'Motor-Sparing' nerve block tested for hip surgery pain
NCT ID NCT05898581
Summary
This study is comparing two methods to control pain after total hip replacement surgery. It will test if a newer ultrasound-guided nerve block (called a PENG block) works as well as the current standard method, which is an injection of numbing medicine during surgery. The study aims to see if the new block provides similar pain relief while possibly helping patients keep more leg strength for recovery.
