New heart scan dye uses half the dose
NCT ID NCT05954559
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a new, FDA-approved MRI contrast dye called Elucirem to see if it can detect scarring in heart muscle as well as a standard dye, but using only half the dose. Researchers will compare new scans using Elucirem with old scans from the same 25 participants who previously had a standard scan. The goal is to see if the new, lower-dose agent provides equally clear pictures of heart damage.
