Scientists hunt for hidden clues in the brain to unlock ALS

NCT ID NCT04691011

Summary

This study aimed to find new markers in MRI brain, spinal cord, and muscle scans that could help doctors diagnose ALS earlier and measure how the disease progresses over time. It involved 22 adults with ALS and healthy volunteers who underwent multiple advanced MRI scans over six months. The goal was to see if changes seen on these scans matched up with changes in patients' physical abilities and symptoms.
