Could a simple scan replace painful liver biopsies?

Summary
This study aims to see if a new type of ultrasound, done during a standard scope procedure, can accurately measure liver scarring (fibrosis) and fat without needing a painful biopsy. It will enroll 300 adults who are already scheduled for both a liver biopsy and a FibroScan test to check for fatty liver disease. Researchers will compare the results of the new ultrasound test to the biopsy and other standard tests to see how well it works.
