Scientists hunt for simple blood test to spot insulin problems
NCT ID NCT01648478
Summary
This study aimed to find out if measuring a specific protein (IRAP) in the blood could be a simple way to check how sensitive a person's body is to insulin, which is important for blood sugar control. Researchers tested this idea in 21 healthy young adults by comparing the IRAP levels to the results of a complex, gold-standard test called a hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially improve future diagnosis, not to treat any condition.
