New Light-Based kidney test could speed up diagnosis

NCT ID NCT05728216

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a new imaging technique called dynamic full-field optical coherence tomography (OCT) to examine kidney tissue right after a biopsy. The goal is to see if this method can quickly and accurately identify signs of acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease, compared to the usual lab analysis. About 50 adults who need a kidney biopsy will take part. If successful, this approach could lead to faster diagnoses and possibly help develop AI tools for kidney disease.
