Faster HIV tests aim to stop spread in baltimore

NCT ID NCT04793750

Summary

This study tested new, faster HIV tests that give results during a clinic visit. The goal was to see if these quick tests help connect people to treatment if they have HIV, or to prevention medication if they don't, much sooner than standard lab tests. Researchers enrolled 419 adults in Baltimore who were living with or at high risk for HIV to compare the performance of these rapid tests.
