New numbing technique could mean less pain, faster movement after hip surgery

NCT ID NCT07239817

Summary

This study is testing whether a new local numbing technique works as well as standard spinal anesthesia for pain control after hip replacement surgery. Researchers want to see if the new method, which involves numbing medicine injected around the hip joint, provides similar pain relief while allowing patients to move their leg sooner after surgery. The study will compare 100 adults having hip replacement surgery, with half receiving the new technique and half receiving standard spinal anesthesia.
