New Heart-Zapping technique tested for stubborn irregular heartbeat

NCT ID NCT06985901

Summary

This study is testing a new procedure called pulsed-field ablation for people with persistent atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat that lasts more than a week. The procedure aims to electrically isolate the heart's pulmonary veins to control the arrhythmia. Researchers will implant a small heart monitor in 60 participants to track any recurrence of the irregular heartbeat for one full year after the procedure.
