New hope for Tough-to-Treat stomach cancer: major trial tests experimental drug

Summary
This study is testing whether a new drug called IDRX-42 works better than the current standard drug, sunitinib, for people with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that have spread or cannot be removed by surgery. The trial will involve 450 adults whose cancer has progressed after initial treatment with imatinib. Researchers will measure how long patients live without their cancer getting worse, overall survival, and quality of life.
