New eye scanner could spot hidden disease before vision loss

NCT ID NCT04598932

Summary

This study is testing a new type of microscope that measures the stiffness of the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. Researchers want to see if this tool can better detect a weakening eye disease called keratoconus at its earliest stages and help predict if someone is a good candidate for laser vision correction surgery. The study will involve 220 adults with healthy eyes, keratoconus, or those planning to have certain eye procedures.
