No-Needle eye test could spot diabetic blindness risk sooner

NCT ID NCT02330042

Summary

This study is testing a new type of eye scan to detect early blood vessel damage from diabetes, which can lead to blindness. The goal is to see if this scan, which doesn't require an injection, can work as well as the current standard test that does. Researchers are comparing scans from 165 people with and without diabetes to see if the new method can spot problems like reduced blood flow or abnormal vessel growth.
